Get Surreal in Seattle with “Maximum Miro” at Hotel Max
February 10, 2014 – SEATTLE, Wash.– On February 13, 2014, the Seattle Art Museum is bringing the works of Joan Miro to the Emerald City with “Miro: The Experience of Seeing,” an exhibition focusing on the last 20 years of the iconic artist’s career. In conjunction with the show, Hotel Max, Seattle’s home away from home for art lovers, has partnered with Miller’s Guild, the hotel’s much-heralded new restaurant, to offer a Maximum Miro package that pairs an artful room in the heart of downtown with tickets to the exhibition and craft cocktails inspired by the Spanish master.
Guests who book the Maximum Miro package will stay overnight at Hotel Max and receive two tickets to the SAM exhibition of more than 50 paintings, drawings and sculptures by Miro drawn from the collection of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, Spain. They will also enjoy two deliciously seductive Joan Miro cocktails at Miller’s Guild, the much buzzed about wood fueled, nose-to-tail restaurant James Beard Award-winning Chef Jason Wilson opened at Hotel Max in December 2013.
Developed especially for the Maximum Miro package, the Miller’s Guild version of this artist-inspired cocktail combines MG Cask Aged See 7 Stars White Dog, Carpano Antica Formula, Pierre Ferrand Curacao and orange and Agnostura bitters with a cherry and lemon twist garnish. It is based on a recipe by Miguel Boada, one of Spain’s most famed bartenders, who created the original cocktail in honor of Miro, one of his regular customers. This modern spin on a classic is a natural fit for the restaurant’s bar program, which has already earned acclaim for house-finishing Washington spirits in oak casks. The MG Cask Aged See 7 Stars White Dog in the Joan Miro is a prime example of how the restaurant employs these spirits in artfully crafted cocktails. The Joan Miro cocktail at Miller’s Guild is priced at $12 and will be featured on the bar menu for the duration of the SAM exhibition.
Rates for the Maximum Miro package begin at $199 per night, plus tax, and it is bookable now for stays starting on February 13, 2014 through May 26, 2014, when the SAM exhibition closes. To book, call 866-986-8087 or visit www.hotelmaxseattle.com/special-offers.
